Hedge edge wins double

THIS year Longtown YFC had the edge on neighbouring Craswall in Herefordshire federations annual hedging match. Craswall members have won both trophies for several years now, but this time Longtown took both the Pencombe Agricultural Society cup and the Agricultural Valuers Association trophy with Craswall in runner-up position and Allensmore third.

Five clubs competed at Marlbrook Farm, Leominster and the individual class winners were as follows: Under 26 – Ian Whistance, Longtown; under 21 – Stephen Nicholls, Allensmore; under 19 – Derek Lloyd, Longtown; team of two under 26 – Andrew Williams and Dean Prosser, Longtown.
