Heifer calf shows up well in the ring

A TOP price of 2450gns came for the January-born heifer calf Almondene Storm Avis at the Pic and Mix sale of Holstein Friesians at Carlisle.

Consigned by F R Lawson and Son, Preston, Lancs, this fashionably-bred Maughlin Storm daughter has a maternal sister by Boulet Charles that made 8500gns at the 1995 Black and White sale.

"This claf showed herself superbly in the ring and deserved the top price," said auctioneer Edward Brown. Buyers were Messrs Wilson for their Petteril herd in Cumbria.
