Hemp used to flavour beer

A BERLIN-BASED brewer, Bier Company, is using hemp to flavour beer.

But anti-drug campaigners need not worry – it takes 3,000 bottles of the amber fluid to get stoned.

The company has called the beer Turn because it wants customers to “turn their minds” into the idea of using hemp as an ingredient for beer. It is now on sale in Londons bars and clubs.

Hops and hemp are closely related, and using the product to flavour beer is by no means a new idea – it was a popular recipe during the Dark Ages.
