Hereford adds to junior title

HEREFORD bull Dendor 1 Nigel took the male title and sold for the top price of 2500gns at last weekends spring fixture for the Hereford Cattle Society at Leominster.

It follows his junior male champion title at last summers Kington Show.

He was consigned by Denis Jones, Caersws, Powys, and sired by Chapelton 1 Highlander. Buyer was Gerald Blandford,Hereford.

The reserve male champion, Westwood Master Oats from R T Davies and Co, Kidderminster, is a son of Haven Everest and made 2200gns to Mr Irvine-Fortesque from Kincardineshire.

Champion female was Mrs A M Briggs Blackwell 1 Olive, by Lowerhope 1 Grant. She realised 1150gns.

AVERAGES: 11 bulls £1200 and seven heifers £822. (Russell, Baldwin and Bright)
