Highest bid for Malton ewe

JACK Bulmer, one of the great characters of the Suffolk breed, staged a major reduction from his Malton flock in North Yorkshire where prices peaked at 2000gns.

Midlothian breeder Scott Brown paid the days top for a three-crop ewe by Malton Noble bred out of a Fordafourie 321 dam. He also secured the highest-priced ewe lamb, paying 360gns for one by Brailes Superman.

Shearling ewes reached 1800gns given by locally-based Habton Farms for one by Lauderdale Lovejoy, the flocks most successful sire.
