Highland highs

THE worlds largest fold of black Highland cattle was dispersed at Castle Douglas last weekend for the late Archie Howat.

Ian Graham, Kilmacolm paid the top price of 3500gns for Princess Dubh 4th of Rigg, a 1990-bred black cow by Phoil of Cailaich and suckling a bull calf.

The 24 black cows and calves averaged £1242. A further 67 cows and calves levelled at £622. (Wallets Marts)n
