A FASTER trade from a good crowd of buyers levelled 64 cattle at just under £800 at the Lancaster Holstein Dairy Sales fixture, where a Shoremar Mason daughter finished on top at 1300gns.

Blacksnape Mason Gloria, bred out of a twice 11,000kg Tiger Cat cow and calved three weeks, was consigned by RL and MS Mares from their herd at Darwen, near Blackburn. Although not brought out for the show classes under judge GT Booth of the Downshawdale herd, her stall drew more than a passing glance from potential buyers. She heads back to Lancs with John Barton, Bury.

A heifer from the heart of Lancss Fylde dairy pastures claimed the championship for Peter Tomlinson of the Bilsrowan herd near Blackpool. His Hemble Slocum Grey, by Glen Toctin, had a PIN +£74 and was out of a Tab dam. She made 1150gns to the judge. &#42
