HUNT PROTESTER FACES PROSECUTION
A PRO-HUNT PROTESTER could be charged with assault after hurling a piece of hollowed-out fruit containing offal at junior DEFRA minister Ben Bradshaw.
Mr Bradshaw was arriving at a south-west fisheries conference in Exeter, Devon, on Monday where he was greeted by about 70 vocal pro-hunt protesters showing their opposition to the ban on hunting with hounds.
Police spokeswoman PC Sharon Newman said: “The inspector who was in charge said it was very peaceful. There were 70 people there who were very well-behaved and one person who threw something. The assault has been recorded and enquiries undertaken to identify the offender.”
