Huxley HFs top 4100gns at dispersal
A REPUTATION for establishing good cow families in other herds created a keen demand at the dispersal of Jeremy Markss Huxley Holstein Friesian herd at Tattenhall, Chester.
One of the herds most successful breeding lines was at the forefront of the days trade. Huxley Lindy Dawn, a third calver that gave 10,000kg with her second, made the top price of 4100gns.
She was in-calf to Ked Juror and giving 45kg a day from a March calving. Buyer was Philip Smith for his Mileoak herd at Crewe.
Tony and Pamela Garnett, Knutsford paid 3600gns for Huxley Lindy Danielle, a third calver giving 43.6kg and also secured her yearling heifer by Aerostar at 1350gns.
Jeremy Millington, Oswestry made three of the leading bids adding Cleitus, Prelude and Sunny Boy daughters to his Felton herd at 2600gns (twice) and 2500gns.
