ONE of the latest developments designed to stop machinery theft comes from Tag Guard. The Tag Guard system employs electronic security tags and a portable base station. Power for the base station which can monitor and control up to 150 tags within a 350m (1148ft) radius, is either mains or battery. If a tagged machine is disturbed a signal is sent to a central monitoring station, via the base station, where the alarm can be raised.
