TRADE in live cattle carrying antibodies to bovine leptospirosis is now illegal in the Netherlands, following a decision by the Dutch board of agriculture.

Only owners of herds certified free of leptospirosis can trade live cattle, reports Boerderji. Any farms without a certificate that want to sell cattle must prove that their animals are disease-free.
