A CHESHIRE farmer has been fined £2000 by magistrates for illegally filling a lake on his farm with more than 2m gallons of water. Mark Abell, Barthomley, near Crewe, pleaded guilty to two offences and was also ordered to pay £1170 costs to the Environment Agency.
