&#8226 VARIABLE interest rates from the Agricultural Mortgage Corp-oration have been increased 0.25%, taking the base rate to 7.25% – in line with last weeks surprise hike by the Bank of England. AMC managing director Barry Saint says he hopes the market is now close to its peak. But with this weeks inflation figures at a two-year high, City expectations are for further rate rises to come.
