• SALES of new edible linseed crop linola have exceeded best expectations, touching 12,000ha (30,000 acres), says supplier Nickerson Seeds. Markets for the edible oil are now backed by a lucrative export market as a seed topping on breads in Germany, France and Holland, says the companys David Pearson. Seed supply can cope this year, but extra seed contracts will be needed to meet demand next year, he notes. *
