uTHE Texel sire reference scheme – Elite Texel Sires – is to form a joint venture company with the British Texel Sheep Society. The move means the society will take a more active role in promoting the sire reference scheme and should have more lobbying power to ensure the MLC and Signet continue to develop sire referencing. The society is also in the process of revising lean index values with the aid of SACs new CT scanner.
