uMONITOR milk protein on a weekly basis to indicate how well you are feeding cows, says Teagasc dairy adviser Dermot McCarthy. At this time of year, protein can be depressed by grazing poor quality grass, grazing cows too tight or a shortage of grass, he warns in Tegascs Todays Farm.
