Inhibitor allows for better slurry use
BETTER use of nitrogen in slurry and increased grass dry matter yield can be obtained by adding a nitrification inhibitor to slurry, claims fertiliser company Omex.
Trials carried out by North West Agronomy using Omexs product Didin Fluid showed that 80% of available nitrogen was used by grass, compared with only 30% where nitrification inhibitor was not included. Grass dry matter yields also increased by 11% where slurry was treated, says the company. *
