Insecticide choices reduced
INSECTICIDE choices have taken a knock as a host of manufacturers have chosen not to support Pesticides Safety Directorate reviews of their compounds.
Ten of the 38 active ingredients due for review are not being supported. Their approvals have now been revoked. Distributors and farmers now have two years in which to sell or use existing stocks.
REVOKED INSECTICIDES
• Carbaryl, diazinon, ethiofencarb, heptenophos, ephosfolan, phosalone, pyrazophos, quinalphos, thiometon and trichlorfon.
