Interest rates left unchanged
THE Bank of Englands Monetary Policy Committee has voted to leave the Banks interest rates unchanged at 7.25%.
Minutes of todays Monetary Policy Committee meeting will be published next month. But it is thought that the Banks eight-member Monetary Policy Committee was equally split on whether or not interest rates should be increased.
That was the situation in February, when the banks governor, Eddie George, used his casting vote to keep rates at current levels.
