Irrigation via mobile phone
JONES Engineerings hose reel irrigators can now be equipped with a mobile phone control system.
Connected to the hose reels computer, information such as the length of pipe out, time remaining and pull-in speed can be relayed to the operators mobile phone.
The phone can then be keyed to vary the pull speed or stop the irrigator, says the maker. Information that a run has been completed, or if a fault such as non-pipe movement, no water or low water pressure can also be conveyed to the operator.
Jones points out that the mobile phone system is not restricted to distance like a radio control. *
