Island tenants’ future in doubt

THE future of the five tenant farmers on Great Cumbrae in the Firth of Clyde is in doubt after the island was put up for sale.

Island owner, the Marquis of Bute, has written to the farmers with an offer to purchase their farms.

The island is thought to be worth £3 million.
