"John Archer" killed under a tractor

RADIO 4 soap The Archers last night killed off one of their star characters in an agricultural accident.

John Archer – the son of Tony and Pat – was killed when his tractor overturned. The decision to kill off the character became necessary after actor Sam Barriscale, 23, ended his contract with the soap.
