Just about moving
JIM LOFTHOUSE, of Eildon Grain, on the Scottish Borders says, “We need some sunshine and then everyone should get going next week.”
They have received four loads of grain. “Feed barley Pastoral has been better quality than expected. Im quite optimistic.”
He says farmers are about a week behind usual, although there is no panic yet. There is more spring barley being grown in the area, as the sowing conditions were poor last autumn. Wheat will become fit in September.
