LAND Rover is recalling 10,000 vehicles because of possible faults with the flywheel assembly which connects the engine drive to the clutch.
The vehicles affected are manual transmission Discovery and Defender TD5 diesel vehicles produced between September 1998 and June 1999.
A Land Rover spokesman said farmers who had purchased the vehicles would be contacted and advised to make an appointment with their dealer.
There was an issue with the material specification in some of the early clutches and we are recalling the cars so we can change the fly-wheels.
He added: The car will probably be away for the day but that is all.
Land Rover is also upgrading the engine idler pulley fitted to certain Discovery Series 2 V8 models manufactured from August 1998.
It is thought that about 1,300 vehicles are affected.
