Last but by no means least
THE last heifer through the ring made the top price of 1500gns at the Western Holstein Clubs latest fixture at Beeston Castle in Cheshire.
Bidlea Italie Peach from Ray Brown and Partners (Holmes Chapel) was two weeks calved and out of a high-yielding Southwind Bell dam with three of her seven lactations at over 10,300kg. Buyers were C and R Goodfellow, Macclesfield.
The same buyers also gave 1200gns for the calved heifer Bidlea Knighthood Tagasling 2nd. The Goodfellows also claimed the calved heifer Pigothill Aeroline Annabell from A and J Richardson, Macclesfield at 980gns.
