Last pig zone to go in weeks?
By FWi staff
THE Ministry of Agriculture has lifted another movement restriction zone imposed on livestock following the outbreak of swine fever last summer.
The movement of pigs from the coastal surveillance zone surrounding Woodbridge, Suffolk, can now resume, said MAFF on Friday (15 December).
The lifting of the Woodbridge zone means restrictions are left on just one remaining 10km area on the Suffolk/Norfolk border.
That zone could be lifted within weeks, provided there are no further outbreaks, nor any delays in cleaning-down procedures on infected premises.
