Latest NFFO plan

ENOUGH energy to power 100,000 homes could be produced from biomass and anaerobic digestion under the governments latest plans for renewable energy.

The fourth stage of the Non Fossil Fuel Obligation (NFFO 4) allows for electricity contracts totalling 73MW to come from short-rotation coppice, forestry residues and anaerobic digestion. It provides for a potential 20,000ha (49,400 acres) of energy crops. &#42
