Lingering longer on comfy mats

COMFY cow hoof mats encourage animals to linger longer reducing the number of lame cows and therefore cutting vet bills, claims manufacturer Ritchey Tagg.

The new design Premium Hoof Mat has extra padding and is more comfortable to stand on, says the company. The cows weight allows medicated solution to penetrate between claws ensuring good coverage. Where cows are treated before entering a milking parlour, the solution has time to dry before feet again become muddy.

The thicker mat also holds more solution – 35 litres, allowing up to 80 animals to be treated between top-ups.
