Longer-life plastic

RECYCLED ReTex sheeting has the performance of plastic but at lower cost, says manufacturer Transform Plastics.

It says the sheeting, made of recycled post-consumer plastic, will not rot, corrode, crack or splinter and is non-absorbent, so has a long life-expectancy while being easy to clean. It is said to be suitable for walls, flooring, feeders and roofing, either indoors or outdoors.

The firm claims ReTex is easy to install, but because of its density it is little harder to nail or screw into than timber. Sheets come in 6mm (0.24in) to 15mm (0.6in) thicknesses.

A standard black 2.4m x1.2m (8ft x 4ft) sheet that is 6mm (0.24in) thick costs £17.15, and the 12mm (0.48in) version is £28.85. Coloured sheets are also available (01695-51399).
