Machinery slump hits dealer group

LOOKERS, the motor dealership group, is nursing a drop in pre-tax profits last year following a 40% fall in sales of agricultural machinery.

Pre-tax profits for the year to 30 September fell from £9 million to £8.6m.

Turnover was down from £606.8m to £584.5m.
