Microchip keeps tabs on portable drill
EXTENDING the range of portable electric hammer drills offered by Kango is the model 850.
Suitable for drill bits from 16 to 50mm in diameter, the drill uses a 1050W motor and includes a microchip which serves as an electronic tagging device for the units serial number and user information.
In addition to deterring theft, the microchip warns of when a service is due, and failure to carry out the maintenance, says the company, will result in the drills brushes automatically cutting out.
With an operating weight of 8.4kg, the Kango 850 hammer drill costs £900. (01733-866200).
