Milk Council criticises Harry Potter
By Nigel Burnham
THE Milk Development Council has criticised the makers of the Harry Potter film for negotiating a 100m sponsorship deal with Coca-Cola.
Using Coke to promote Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, sent the wrong message to children, said MDC chief executive Kevin Bellamy.
“The Harry Potter books are about inspiring children to do good things,” said Mr Bellamy.
“Harry is a hero to children and if children are going to emulate him, then milk would be a far better drink for him to be associated with than Coke.”
