Milk Marque promises 14.5m to members

MILK MARQUE has announced that it will pay an advance profits distribution to its members totalling £14.5 million which will be received with the June milk cheques..


The bonus worth 0.25 pence for a standard litre, for all milk produced in the year to 31 March 1999 is being paid a month earlier than usual to assist members cashflow.


Paul Beswick, managing director of Milk Marque said that he was delighted to be able to pay this money early.

“At this difficult time for all dairy farmers, I am pleased that milk Marque members will gain the cashflow benefits of this advance payment,” he added.


In addition, there will be a small balancing payment in July after Milk Marques accounts for the year to 31 March 1999 have been approved.


Milk Marque is finalising its accounts for the year to March and will shortly be able to publish the full amount of this years profits distribution, including the July balancing payment.
