Mini-excavator is a a fifth more nippy

KUBOTAS new KX41-2 mini-excavator has been designed to compete in the popular 1.5t sector of the market. Weighing in at 1.68t with a cab or 1.5t for the canopy version, power is supplied by a 19.2hp Kubota E-TVCS series three-cylinder diesel engine.

A two-speed transmission provides a 20% increase in maximum travel speed, when compared with the older single-speed models – and rubber tracks with a wider lug pattern give a smoother ride when travelling on a hard surface.

Speed selection is controlled by foot pedal, with the faster travel speed engaging when the pedal is pressed. The slower speed is selected automatically when the pedal is released again.

Standard bucket capacity is 0.04 cu m, and the digging width is 508mm (20in) when the side teeth are fitted to the bucket.

&#8226 Kubota claims to be the top selling mini-excavator make in the UK with a 20% market share.

Most of the sales are to plant and tool hire businesses, but agricultural contractors also use this type of machine for drainage, trenching and landscaping work.
