Mini-Marques name their boards
By FWi staff
THE new co-operatives born of the break-up of Milk Marque have already set up boards.
They are in place for the three regional companies, Jim Harrison, southern Milk Marque member, told FWi.
Although Mr Harrison declined to say who the new Southern co-op would be led by, he confirmed that Rex Ward of Cornwall and John Singleton of Hanpshire had both been voted on to the board.
He denied rumours that he was the new chairman, but confirmed that he was co-opted temporarily.
Neil MacFarlane will be the new operations director.
Officially, the two other companies will not reveal their new boards until members have been informed.
However, according to FWi sources, Poul Christensen will chair the Midlands co-op.
Other members of his team are believed to be Richard Davies and Mansel Raymond, with Paul Beswick as a probable candidate for chief executive.
Chris Bird is thought to be the chief executive of the new Northern company, assisted by John Cook, Neville Thornhill, Chris Bird and Michael Barker.
Confirmation of these positions is likely next week when the newly formed co-ops have had time to contact all their members.
