Mixed menu for piglets breakfast
FRUITS, vegetables and herbs will form the basis of a new piglet diet called Pigs Breakfast, expected to improve performance.
Park Tonks, a small nutrition ingredients firm has received a £45,000 grant from the DTI to develop the product, which could raise growth rates and cut time from birth to slaughter. On-farm research will be carried out in conjunction with Porcine Services of Bury St Edmunds to establish the optimum method of feeding the diet. *
