Model updated to reflect BHS ideal

BRITISH Holstein Society has updated its true type model to reflect its ideal cow.

The model is now longer in the rib and cleaner in the bone and through the head.

It has more stature and more overall dairyness compared with the previous model developed five years ago.

The breed has moved on, and the revised model reflects todays younger animal, which has clean, flat bone and more natural milking ability, the BHS adds.
