Monsanto to publish GM rape research
MONSANTO, the biotechnology giant, is to publish details of its research into a new variety of rapeseed, genetically modified to address vitamin A deficiency.
Lack of vitamin A can be a serious problem, especially in developing countries, and can lead to impaired vision.
Monsanto says it expects to complete further testing of the rapeseed over the next few years.
But it is unclear whether the new variety would ever be a significant commercial proposition.
