‘More than one farm in ten organic by 2005’

THE Soil Association estimates 10%-15% of Britain and the European Union will be farmed organically by 2005.

Results from studies comparing organic with conventionally grown produce are conflicting, says The Guardian, in a feature looking at whether organic foods are any healthier for people.

It says that, while it is not proven that organic is significantly healthier to individuals, it is becoming clear that organic farming is better for the environment.
