More time for EU feed antibiotic probe?

EUROPEAN Union scientists have asked for more time to consider a report into the role of antibiotics in animal feed and the link to human resistance.
The scientific steering committee will meet again on 27 May to vote on the report, which could lead to a blanket ban on all antibiotics used as growth promoters.
The report was prepared for the European Commissions consumer affairs directorate .
