National Trust in partial victory over hunt
THE National Trust secured partial victory in Londons High Court over its ban on deer hunting after the Devon & Somerset and Quantock Staghounds challenged the ban on its land in the Quantock Hills and Exmoor.
The judge ordered the court action should be struck out but ruled that the order should take effect only if the huntsmen failed within eight weeks to obtain leave from the Charity Commissioners to begin proceedings over the trusts decision to uphold the ban last October.
