Natural additive for pig growth

BOOST pig growth rates without antibiotics using Promax – a new organic compound, says feed supplier Tucks.

The additive is being offered as a natural alternative to antibiotic growth promoters in diets for pigs up to eight weeks old.

Trials are said to have shown benefits worth 4p/kg liveweight gain from weaning to 30kg when the additive is used. Tucks believe it has a beneficial effect on gut flora and works by improving feed utilisation rather than increasing intake.
