Navistar taps into FoMoCo expertise
TRUCK and engine manufacturing giants Ford Motor Company and Navistar International Corporation are to form a joint venture to build commercial trucks.
There is also an intention to explore opportunities for greater co-operation in diesel engines for potential application in Fords range of truck production.
The as yet unnamed alliance will produce medium duty commercial trucks which will be marketed separately under the Ford and Navistar brand. There could also be an interest in the development of smaller commercial vehicles. Regulatory approval is pending. *
