‘Negligible’ job losses with Scots hunt ban
A BAN on foxhunting in Scotland would have a “negligible effect” on jobs or the rural economy, according to a study by the University of Aberdeen.
The study appeared as Downing Street said an announcement about government action on hunting would be made this week.
This is expected to be made by Jack Straw, the home secretary, in a written Commons answer.
It is expected that the government will support a private members Bill rather than attempt to drive through legislation itself.
