New concept plough makes a Danish debut

KONGSKILDE is set to launch a new range of ploughs into the UK.
Marketed under the Overum banner – a company Kongskilde acquired last May – the CXL Wagon Plough made its debut at Denmarks Agromek machinery show.
Described as being a new concept in ploughing, the CXL comprises two sections: a semi-mounted plough connected at its rear to two wheels – hence the term wagon plough – and a rear plough section mounted on the wheel assembly.
The result is a plough which is available with 6-, 7-, 8- or 9-furrows using a maximum of three furrows on the rear section. Simplicity in operation is ensured through the use of just three hydraulic rams, one sets the front furrow width, another rotates the plough and a third raises the plough on the wheels.
Equipped with XL bodies, a type claimed to offer low draught requirements, the CXL has a point to point clearance of 1m (39in) and an underbeam clearance of 75cm (30in). Recommended power requirement for the nine-furrow version (6+3) is in the 150hp and 180hp bracket.
