New nematicide granules for 98

NEXT year should see registration of the first new granular potato nematicide since the early 1970s, according to ISK Biosciences.

Controlling both Globodera pallida and rostochiensis species, the product is still under evaluation by PSD. But it is claimed to give good yield responses and cut the pests breeding potential more than existing granules.

"It also shows good selectivity on non-target organisms including earthworms," says business manager Robert Bakewell.n
