New owners take over FOL
FARMING Online, Britains longest running agricultural internet portal, has been saved by a management buyout for an undisclosed sum.
The new owners of the web-site, which was established five-and-a-half years ago, are Peter Griffith, head of agronomy service, and content manager Simon Bradley.
FOL was put up for sale in August by parent company FOL Networks, which said it planned to concentrate on software development. However, despite persistent rumours of a potential purchaser no deal was struck and the firm was forced into liquidation.
The remainder of FOL Networks has been sold to Waveworks, a Leics-based internet company. *
