NFU flooded with logo promises

MORE THAN 3600 promises from farmers have been submitted for inclusion in the NFU‘s new campaign to raise the profile of the Little Red Tractor logo.

The Promises Campaign, which will feature explicit promises from farmers to consumers regarding the agricultural, environmental and animal welfare standards they adhere to in their food production, kicks off with a radio campaign later this year.

This week (w/e Oct 29), a panel of experts will start to go through the many submissions to decide which to include in the campaign.

The farmer with the most persuasive promise will win a Massey Ferguson tractor worth £29,000.

Bev Wilson, the NFU‘s campaigns manager, told NFU Council on Monday (October 25) that the Little Red Tractor logo appears on £56bn worth of food, and it has only appeared on British products.

In four years, Assured Food Standards has found no case of wilful misuse of the logo, Ms Wilson added.
