NFU reminder on industrial rape
DONT be tempted to sideline contracted set-aside industrial oilseed rape for sale on the open market, warns the NFU.
Farmers need to deliver all the output, not just the representative yield, says arable specialist Paul Ibbott. The reminder comes after DEFRA agreed to cut this seasons representative yield thresholds qualifying for set-aside payments from 70% of the regional average yield to 30% and 40% for winter and spring crops respectively.
"We would hate any of our members to be seen as being unscrupulous," says Mr Ibbott. *
