NFU set for French legal action
FARMERS are ready to start legal proceedings against the French unless the ban on British beef exports is lifted on Thursday (11 November).
Ben Gill, president of the National Farmers Union, is to meet Neil Kinnock, vice-president of the European Commission, and David Byrne, the food safety commissioner, in Brussels today (Tuesday).
He will urge them to use their influence to bring the French into line.
Mr Gill is adamant, however, there can be no more delays or stalling by the French.
